The Agenda for Leading Learning @ RevUP
We’ll meet from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 4, at the Graduate Hotel in Annapolis, MD. While the panelists listed below will share their insights and perspectives, this designed as a vibrant, discussion-driven event. Come prepared to truly interact and learn!

Here’s a snapshot followed by more detail:
Opening and Lunch
Leading Learning @ RevUP will kick off with time for facilitated networking among attendees and opening perspectives on the current learning business landscape from Tagoras co-founders Jeff Cobb and Celisa Steele. We’ll enjoy lunch together before diving into the two featured “Conversation Catalyst” panels.
Conversation Catalyst: Capitalizing on Career-Long Learning Value
Our first round of facilitated discussion will build off insights from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement on their efforts to work with learners as a critical source of career support.
Gayle Claman, Managing Director of Education and Credentialing at ASCE, will share how her team led a strategic turnaround that repositioned ASCE’s learning portfolio for relevance, accessibility, and financial sustainability. She’ll highlight the role of pricing transformation, product lifecycle management, and internal collaboration in reviving a declining education business and supporting ASCE’s top-ranked member benefit. Drawing on frameworks like the Value Ramp, Gayle will offer candid insights into the trade-offs and challenges involved in reshaping a legacy program—and where she sees the biggest opportunities for growth across the full career span.
Todd Slater, Chief Content Officer at NIGP, will describe how his association refined its learning strategy by aligning offerings with a credentialing model, restructuring pricing, and driving toward greater impact and value demonstration. He’ll walk through how NIGP uses its own “price-value” and “value curve” frameworks to guide decision-making and ensure relevance and return—both for learners and for the business. Todd will also share lessons from NIGP’s ongoing work to track career impact, test low-cost and subscription models, and navigate the transition from foundational innovation to thoughtful optimization.
Todd and Gayle’s comments will be interwoven with and followed by facilitated discussion among attendees to go deeper on the range of issues raised during their presentations.
Conversation Catalyst: Connecting Learning and Member Engagement
Our second round of facilitated discussion will draw on the efforts of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA) to integrate learning with member engagement and value.
Liz Walz, Director of Learning Vision & Impact at MRAA, will bring an experimenter’s mindset to the conversation, sharing five real-world tests aimed at boosting learner engagement. From developing an engagement scale and AI-powered content finder to implementing a tiered membership model, Liz will reveal the insights MRAA has uncovered about moving members from passive content access to active application and long-term loyalty. Her examples offer a playbook for using data, design thinking, and creative risk-taking to bridge the gap between education offerings and sustained member participation.
Megan Moore, Vice President of Learning and Professional Development at PLUS, and Erin Stephens, Vice President of Business Intelligence at PLUS, will share how reimagining both their curriculum and membership model created powerful synergies that fueled member engagement and revenue growth. By building structured learning paths around their designation programs, PLUS clarified value for learners and catalyzed product innovation. They’ll also discuss how redesigning membership expanded reach and created stronger alignment between professional identity and organizational offerings. Their story highlights the potential of tightly integrated learning and membership strategies to deliver lasting impact.
Megan’s, Erin’s, and Liz’s comments will be interwoven with and followed by facilitated discussion among attendees to go deeper on the range of issues raised during their presentations.
Open Forum and Collaborative Coaching
In this highly interactive segment, attendees will have the opportunity to surface real-time questions, challenges, or opportunities—including ones generated from the AI diagnostic—and tap into the collective expertise of their peers. Drawing on the collaborative coaching model developed by Tagoras, this session blends structured peer input with informal dialogue to help participants gain clarity, spark new ideas, and uncover practical solutions. Whether you’re wrestling with pricing strategy, product innovation, internal alignment, or something else, this is your chance to get unstuck and move forward with greater confidence. Be ready to share, listen, and learn together.
Research Update: The CEO Revenue Perspective and Highlights from the Learning Business Strategic Outlook 2026 Survey
Throughout 2025, Tagoras managing director Jeff Cobb has engaged in dozens of interviews with association CEOs to explore their perspective on the value of learning as part of the association value proposition as well the societal role of associations as education providers. He’ll share some of what he heard. Additionally, he and Celisa Steele, also a managing director at Tagoras, will share early insights from other Tagoras research to be published later in 2025, including results from their annual Learning Business Strategic Outlook survey. We’ll discuss the business and revenue implications for Leading Learning @ RevUP attendees.

We’ll wrap up the day by joining attendees of the RevUP Summit for the opening RevUP PARty! Join the community committed to improving association revenue health. Toast to new ideas, new connections, and new paths for improving your association business. Cheers!
